What if....

What if I'm talent-less?

I can't sing, can't create music, can't dance, can't write, can't run fast, can't jump far, can't anything la...

The only thing I'm good at is... sleeping... oh... cool! I found a talent!! =D SLEEPING! How can I ever forget?!! lol... I use to get told of a lot during my highschool days when I was still living permanently back home... Mum will come back at 4pm, and I'll be still in pjs, and she goes, "Did you just wake up?"... and I'll be like, "No, not really... like 4 hours ago...". Haha... Oh and last year, I use to wake up at 12pm, until one of my housemates went, "WOW!! You are powerful to be able to sleep that much!". It got to an extent that there will be exclamation of shockness if I was out of my bedroom earlier than 11am on a Saturday morning... LOL!!

Ok, out of topic... lols... I miss home...

Don't know why I so emo...

Oh... On another note... I'm so addicted to AJ Rafael at the moment... Go YouTube him if you don't know him... lol... he's a great musician, people like him make people like me envy people with that much talent... lol...

I just realise how dependant I am on music.. it's like my own drug... I can't imagine life without music...

Self Reflection

Have you ever wonder how far you'll go if you push yourself to the max?

I know I haven't been pushing myself to my full potential... Been always following the flow, follow mood, follow whatever...

Imagine if I did push... I would have gotten into matrix, would have gotten the scholarship, would be a good pianist/violinist and be able to play the guitar... I won't be fat... lol...

All the would haves, and what ifs.... haha... I should just focus on the now, and how to make myself a better person...

but so lazy.... and THAT'S how I always go back to step 1...

Sarawakian Dinner

It all started on Thursday night while chatting with Bryan... Out of the blue he excitedly asked me to go check out this blog, Sebugey. Wondering what made him so excited I explored the blog... I don't know whether it was a good idea or not, because the blog contained sooooo MUCH food!!!!!!! I was drooling ok looking at the ayam pansuh, lauk terong, kari manok, the asam fish and etc...

He was like, ehhh, what can you cook? I'm like... all also I never cook before!! But I watched my aunty cook ayam pansuh before... We went on and on about ayam pansuh... lol! I was supposed to go ask for recipes, and prepare the chicken, and his task was to chop bamboo.. haha... then I remembered the corn beef HQ and I bought hours before. So, we decided to attempt cooking nasi goreng corn beef... =D

We poor things forced ourselves to sleep despite our growling stomach waiting for Friday night to come faster... oh yaaa... we decided to do it long house style just cause we alcoholics with whiskey... XD at first we wanted Chivas but then it was wayyy above budget so we opt for our good friend JD instead...

meet JD...

But we didn't manage to speak Iban after that... I think we need tuak for that, or stronger whiskey... LOL!!!

nasi goreng

We threw in onions, and the corn beef.... goreng-goreng, then threw in the rice... and later on egg... =D Not bad la in the end... Quite nice... 3 of us finished the whole kuali of rice... crazy la right?

and for desert we watched Sweeney Todd and Harold and Kumar... Nice movies, totally recommended!!! =D Hope you had a great start to the weekend too!

Losing my BM

I think I am..... =S

You know you're losing your BM (Malay) when...

...your friend types "calon" on MSN and your mind pronounces it the English way... like kae-lon... and you keep asking what the hell that is... until you realised that it's "calon", as in cha-lon. -.-

...you and your friends wanna listen to "Belaian Jiwa" on YouTube, and you kept typing B-E-L-A-Y-A-N and wonder why does it seem so wrong, but yet you can't put your finger down on the problem.... and you keep trying variations of the spelling (berlayan, belayan) until your friend peeps over your shoulder and shouts to your other Malaysian friend and tell him how you spell "belaian"... and they roll all over the floor laughing at you...

Scott MacIntyre

For those of you who've been following American Idol Season 8, this name's probably very familiar... For those of you who don't know who he is... He's the visually impaired idol contestant in Season 8, the latest season of American Idol...

Scott MacIntyre

I'm kinda late in the Idol craze, I only started following Season 8... And the idol contestant I got really attached to is... yes, you guessed it... Scott... And I just found out he was voted out on the 8th of April... (Australian TV don't show American Idol) I'm sooooo sad.... I thought he'll at least make it as a finalist...

He's departing song was "The search is over". I think the song's by Survivor if I'm not wrong... but if you wanna check out Scott singing it, you can listen to it on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aqlY9XIezEc&feature=related. He sang it well...

Scott, you're super talented!! I wish you all the best in life and in your career! I'm waiting for your albums!!! =D I still think the judges should've used the save on you!!!

Anyway, at least Adam Lambert's still in... Oh, and Anoop... These two contestants shocked me a lot when I first watched.... Adam looks like this emo dude but he is soooo versatile in his singing... And Anoop... Ok, I admit I was a little skeptical, don't ask why, I just was... until he opened his mouth and sang... and then I'm like, he's good!!!

So... What did I do you asked?? I had food overdose ok... I'm not even exaggerating!! The feasting started on Saturday night... Went down to the Gold Coast with my cousin and his family to meet up with more family there. LOL!! And we had 2 dishes of drunken chicken, another chicken dish, 1 roasted lamb, 1 roasted duck, 1 dish of veggies, 2 dishes of pork... what else ha? Oh ya, heaps of fruits and 1 chocolate cake!!! CRAZY OK!! And yes, I did eat everything... 'coz I didn't wanna left out any of the dishes, so I tried all... LOL!!

And then today... continue...
Bryan roasted his ham, Mum's style.. as in his mum... which was DELICIOUS!! =D It was.... roasted orange ham I think it was called, not sure... Hui Quan roasted turkey and a potato dish... double yummmm!! =D and courtesy of Bryan and Ivan, we had nice tasting desert wine to compliment our feast.

Thank you to the chefs and the wine buyers/bringers...
Oh, after the scrumptious lunch, we had 2 games of.... CHUBBY BUNNY!!! You know what game that is? No? Go youtube it. Haha.. then you'll know what I'm taking about... Ok laa... I'll explain the rules of the game... it involves heaps of marshmallows... ;)

Basically, you try stuffing as many marshmallows as you can in your mouth... but... the trick is... you have to say chubby bunny after every marshmallow you stuff in your mouth.. and the winner is the one with the most marshmallows and still able to say the words "CHUBBY BUNNY"...

Sorry, no pictures of me with my mouth full of marshmallows!!! =P

Fuhh... I feel a little sugar rush now... too much marshmallows and chocolate!!

Anyways... Hope you guys had a

Cooking Attempt

Yup, Sharlene finally attempted to cook... Haha... no la... I do cook k?? Stop looking at me like I don't! =P Soooo... What did I cook? Well, I experimented... Hehe.. oops, shouldn't have wrote it here... Hey!! But HQ and Bryan are still alive okie, so that's the proof that my food was edible! Haha!

Oh, this was on Monday k... So.. I came back super super hungry!! I didn't have breakfast, had salad for lunch, then still hungry.. went to buy watermelon, sushi and then continue to snack the whole day.. I was THAT hungry!! I decided to cook that night.. went online to search for recipes, but then kan... my house don't have all ingredients... soooo... I decided to improvise...

HONEY CHILI CHICKEN! =D

Ingredients:

honey, chili powder, sweet chili, soy sauce, 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions:

just mix all of them until you think it tastes nice. haha... basically I mixed 3 tablespoon of honey and 1 table spoon olive oil first... Then I added the sweet chili and chili powder (depends on how spicy you want it). Mix mix mix, then I thought... aiyooo, too sweet how... That's why I added the soy sauce... and mix mix mix...

Then you mix the chicken with the mixture you made... the extra sauce just pour on the chicken... then you put it in the oven at 200 degrees for 20 minutes.

Note: It depends on how much chicken you cook, so you have to throw in how much you think is enough la...

Dinner!!

Chicken in the oven

The end product of my experiment...

plus healthy veggies!!

See... so healthyyy! =D

Palm Sunday

HAPPY PALM SUNDAY!!!

I was gonna say that this is my first Palm Sunday away from home, then I remembered that I did go to church on Palm Sunday in Germany. Haha! No wonder I was like the mass was familiar somewhere.. LOL!!

As usual, I forgot that it was Palm Sunday, lucky I drag my lazy ass out of "bed"... "Bed" 'coz I don't have a bed, I'm only sleeping on a mattress... lol!! Anywayyy, I thought I was late, thank GOD the church is sooo nearby.. Like I left the house at 8.27am, mass was supposed to start at 8.30am!! I managed to be "early" 'coz for some reason they started it 5 minutes late today.

There was a baby who was baptised today... SO CUTE THE ANG MOH BABY! Really look like those Caucasian babies in commercial, and he didn't even cry when the Father pour the Holy Water on his head. The Father was like, "Oh, I haven't had a crying baby yet!".

Anyway... the main point is this... like Germany.. the palms today were... not quite what we call palms... I was laughing then... I found it so amusing! Like, in Malaysia we use actual palm leaves like nobody's business. In Germany and Australia, they don't have enough palm leaves so they replaced them with subsitute leaves. Still can't get use to it tho...

So weird without palm leaves... So sadd... Made me miss home... Sighh...
